Could someone Please help:
I have our company install for SQL Server Standard Edition 64 bit. I have tried installing it on my new Windows 7, 64 bit laptop but no instance ever gets installed. I have selected to install every component during the install process but all I get prompted for during the install is 'Registration Information', Feature Selection (This is where I install everything) ie: Entire feature will be installed on hard drive. Next I'm prompted for "Sample Database Setup". and then that's it. By the way it only gives me the option to install the databases to my SQL Server 2008 instance.
Would anyone know what I'm doing wrong. Why doesn't the 2005 SQL Server instance get installed.
