Hi,
I'm getting a strange error when trying to install SQL Server 2008R2 Standard on our Windows Server 2008 Standard (SP2). I get a failure on "Operating System Supported for Edition".
Now, looking at the online documentation, I know that the operating system does in fact support the software. We have a full 2005, evaluation 2012 and express 2012 instances installed on the same server, and to make things more confusing, I'm able to install 2008R2 evaluation edition using the same installer, but get the same error as soon as I try to upgrade this to the standard edition using the upgrade wizard.
Could anyone please shed some light on this strange issue?
Regards,
Chris
