First let me say I'm not a server person but have been drafted into service due to company layoffs so please bear with me and my ignorance, I'm tring.
The server in question had the SQL version that came with SBS 2008. When the server was initially setup this was done to support a SharePoint server installation. Since then we've purchased another release of SBS 2008 with a full install version of SQL 2008 to gain the full functionality of the database.
So I thing we're seeing the results of both the 2005 and the 2008 installations of SQL and each of them is presenting with duplicate SPNs - see below.
My problem is not knowing the proper syntax to sue to remove the duplicates not what duplicates should be removed. Any guidance from you folks will be greatly appreciated.
The KDC encountered duplicate names while processing a Kerberos authentication request. The duplicate name is MSSQLSvc/CBCGB6330F.cbcgb.local (of type DS_SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME). This may result in authentication failures or downgrades to NTLM. In order to prevent this from occuring remove the duplicate entries for MSSQLSvc/CBCGB6330F.cbcgb.local in Active Directory.
