When you purchase a new version of SQL Server do Microsoft give you a licence key for the software?
If your network has numerous installations of SQL Server running different versions with different licence models surely you need some way of determining what has been installed where? I was hoping for every purchase of MSSQL that you may get a licence key before the software is functional that you can track back to the receipts for each purchase copy of MSSQL?
If you dont get a licence key - how in your organisations to you get tabs on what has been installed where?
