Viewing log files of SQL 2008R2 Database

Hi folks,

I wonder could someone help me!

I have been asked for a list of users who performed an update statement on a specific database between a particular date and time and I’m not sure how to produce this list.

I can locate the DB in the SQL Management Studio and can she where the DB and log file is stored but I don’t know how to extract any information from the log file or even if that is where I get this information from. I know there is bound to be somewhere that creates a log of what happens on each DB on the SQL server but don’t really know where it is and how to access it.

Sorry, I am new to SQL and would appreciate any help with this.

I can’t take the database off line so if someone could please let me know how to do it preferably via the Management Studio interface or a SQL query I would be most grateful.

Thanks,

Bonemister
