I am new to SQL so please bear with me.
I have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard on my PC and the SQL Configuration Tool shows that it is running. I am able to open the SQL Management Server and connect to (local) server where my test database is installed and run queries against it no problem, however when I open the Business Intelligence Dev Studio when I try to add a new data source, I am unable to locate the (local) server.
I have tried refreshing, restarting server, etc from the Configuration tool, and it all appears works fine however just can’t get it to show up in BIDS.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
