We are a Certified Microsoft Partner that develops SCADA software which is used to collect data from any number of field devices (from one or two, up to the thousands), parse that data and commit it into a SQL database that is then used to generate reports. The only thing that writes to the database is our software and the only thing that reads from the database is again, our software.
When reading the licensing documentation, it becomes somewhat confusing. It could almost be considered Multiplexing or, in other descriptions, leans toward Device CALs. Can anyone summarize what type of licensing these functions would require?
